Back to Paris avec Richard

We stayed in a very colourful hotel called the Beau Marchais in Rue Oberkampf which is on Line 5+9 south east of Gare du Nord and within walking distance of the Cimitiere de Pere Lachais.
 Super groovy bathroom
 Good shower

 Idiot in groovy bathroom

 Breakfast area
 Lounge
 Lounge at front of hotel

 Great colours in room

Not sure who did the psychedelic sort of Robert Crumb on acid paintings
The proverbial spiral staircase - luckily the hotel has a tiny life - one person and bag or two people in embrace
 Front lounge
 Gorgeous spiral coloured porcelain

Foyer

 May be repeating myself

View out window up Oberkampf - I think north
 Other direction
 our metro
one of the old art nouveau station entrances
Boulevard Voltaire
Our corner Brasserie - great food with man selling Normandy oysters outside. We had dinner there on the first and last evening. Charming people - all part of the theatre of eating here, an attentive waiter who gets a good tip. But the attitude to eating and dining is terrific, taken seriously, to enjoy your food is very important in Paris.
 Cirque d'hiver - wow c19th famous circus

This was a good place to stay - close to metro which gets you everywhere cheaply - you can get 10 carnet for 13.70 euros - one ticket per trip. I reckon it must be cheaper than the London Oyster card which is pay as you go and you have to use it to exit so it subtracts lots.
