Happy New Year - 2012 already

On my next to last post after I came home from New York I optimistically stated that the blog would continue. Well ... it's been awhile but life has been busy. Some of the highlights leading up to Christmas included : meeting an outstanding goldsmith Barbara Gasch from White Cliffs; organising artists and installing their works for a fundraising exhibition at Albury High School; organising and attending a fantastic watercolour workshop under the guidance of  Vicki Luke at the Luke's Chalet, Tanglewood at Dinner Plain; attending Portia's Visual Arts Graduation Exhibition at Monash University in Melbourne; attending Helen's 60th birthday in the Blue Mountains; catching up with loved ones at my family's second Griggs Reunion and attending Tom Strachan's stunning ceramic exhibition at Creators' Gallery which kick-started the Christmas shopping.

From October 25 back in the art department at TAFE. In term 4 always heaps to do - help students finish off studio subjects and art history, assess all classes, select works and help to install the 26th Annual Graduate Art Exhibition at the Albury Art Gallery. It was a great opening and well attended. Back in the office read all the students' Visual Diaries and gave feedback, submitted marks and did the other millions of things before leaving for summer holidays. Christmas Day was fun and lots of laughs with lovely people, good food and good wine. New Year's Eve was quiet and lovely. The heat has arrived but the house is cool and the garden is coping. I am planing my June exhibition and painting in the studio. That sort of brings me up to today January 3 2012.
