Hampton Court, Richmond upon Thames in the historic borough of Middlesex

While staying at Oatlands Park we went to Hampton Court which was 8 minutes away.
This historical site of multiple Royal Courts is overwhelming lucky the Georgian apartments closed for restoration until later this year!

The best tree i've seen - so wacky sadly being sapped by some sort of parasite.

The wall to the magnificent extensive gardens
 Rose gardens

Along the path to the cafe - on the site of the tilting yard - jousting
 Weather vane

 I love hedges

 The moat
 The moat

Inside one of the Henry VIII's state rooms

 Another ceiling

 A lesser dining room

Courtyard part of the kitchen area

The traditional christmas decorations made from oranges and cinnamon and pine were fantastic and the perfume everywhere

 Henry's wine cellar
The carpenters' yard where all the food and supplies were delivered
 The 'trade' entrance

This is the fish alley and because it's north facing and always wet, in shade and cold it was described as a Tudor fridge

Grand staircase up to apartments of William III

William was a war monger and spent most of the money on war - and armaments apparently

 View of the Tudor garden

 The Queen's room -

The intimate dining room of William and Mary

Now I understand what is meant by gold plate

 The game room

The Thames outside Hampton Court looking east

 Looking west
 That tree

The earlier part is made of rose Tudor brick
In winter there is an ice skating rink and carousel

An amazing museum.
